Activities
Seminar (WS07/08) and Lecture (WS09/10): Bose-Einstein
Condensation and cold Fermi gases
Research
Interests
Quantum Many-Body Theory:
development of microscopic many-body methods based on
correlated basis function theory, and application to strongly
correlated systems, e.g. superfluid Helium, Bose-Einstein condensates
in the large scattering length regime, dipolar quantum gases
Quantum Monte Carlo:
Variational, Diffusion and Path Integral Monte Carlo
simulations of e.g. solvation and spectra of chromophores in and the
condensate fraction
of helium-4
nanodroplets (the basic idea of Quantum Monte Carlo is summarized here)
Molecular Dynamics and CFD:
development of multiscale MD simulations techniques;
atomistic simulations of hydrodynamic flow (nanofluidics, turbulence);
CFD with Lattice Boltzmann Method (see corresponding diploma topic)
