When I arrived in July it was raining cats and dogs, not actually what you expect if you are travelling to the hottest country in the world. But the weather finally changed, it is summertime now!
What I like about Adelaide are the friendly people that are always ready to help, the beautiful landscape, the seaside and life at university. Adelaide is also a great starting point for journeys in every imaginable direction of the country.
Staff at Flinders University is very obliging, help is offered for any kind of problem you could think of, be it health problems, problems with accurate citation, learning difficulties, religious problems, and so on. The ISSU (International Services Unit) regularly offers trips to different attractions of Adelaide's surroundings where you get the chance to meet and make friends with other international students.
The decision to be the first exchange student for Flinders University was definitely the best I have made in my life until now. I got the chance to develop my language skills in both speaking and writing, to explore an amazing country and meet great people from all over the world that I will never forget.
So people, don't be afraid but apply for an exchange semester or year in Adelaide, you will definitely not regret it.

I have been here in Australia now for about 4 months and I have never regretted this big step in my study life. As far as I can say now, the exchange semester at Flinders University helped me a lot to develop my English language and my research skills. In addition to that I really like that the lecturers are so concerned about their students and the chance to study subjects that are not offered at my home university.
Apart from studying, Adelaide has a lot more to offer. Its beautiful beaches and
surroundings are worth more than one visit and, of course, it is a great
location for discovering the rest of Australia. I can’t believe how fast this
semester went by and I already start to miss the always nice and friendly
Australian folks and the friends from all over the world that I made here. All
in all I just can state: Come to Australia!
(But don’t be afraid of the poisonous wildlife ;-) )
