Wilhelm Macke Masterarbeitspreis
Der Preis wird für an der JKU approbierte Masterarbeiten1) in Physik2) verliehen, die mit “sehr gut” beurteilt wurden. Das Preisgeld beträgt3) dzt. Eur 1.600€. Pro Studienjahr werden maximal 3 solche Preise vergeben.
Stichtag für die Bewerbung ist jährlich der 15.Oktober, die Approbierung der Arbeit muss in den letzten 13.5 Monaten vor diesem Stichtag erfolgt sein4).
Die Bewerbung impliziert die Verpflichtung5), im Fall der Zuerkennung eine allgemein verständliche öffentlich e Präsentation im Rahmen des “Macke Award”s abzuhalten, und die Vortragsunterlagen in einer für AHS/BHS-Lehrerkräfte verwendbaren Form zur Verfügung zu stellen.
Die Antragstellung erfolgt durch email an mackestiftung@jku.at, durch die Kandidat(inn)en selbst, oder auf Vorschlag durch Universitätslehrer(innen) der Physik der JKU. Beizulegen sind:
- die Arbeit als pdf Datei
- 1 A4 Seite Entwurf für Pressetext (.doc)
- Studienerfolgsnachweise (Bachelor- & Masterstudium; als pdf)
- ausgefülltes Formular (pdf)
- Lebenslauf (pdf)
- ggfs. Publikationen (pdf)
- 2 gebundene Exemplare der Arbeit (für die Begutachtung, an Prof. Hingerl)
Wilhelm Macke Master Thesis Prize
The prize is given to honor an excellent master thesis carried out at the JKU in physics6), which must be graded with “sehr gut”. The prize currently amounts7) to Eur 1.600€ and can be given to at most 3 candidates / academic year.
Application deadline is October, 15th of each year; the approbation of the thesis must have been in the 13.5 months preceding this date8).
The application, if successful, implies the obligation9) to give a public, generally understandable presentation of the work at the “Macke Award”, and to make the presentation available for teachers.
Applications, directed to mackestiftung(/\)jku.at, can be submitted both by the candidate and the faculty members of the JKU physics department. They must contain
- an electronic copy of the thesis (pdf)
- 1 A4 page of a text for the press (.doc, in German)
- Transcript of Records (Bachelor- & Masterstudium; als pdf)
- filled out form (pdf)
- CV (pdf)
- (eventually) publications (pdf)
- 2 bound copies of the thesis (for the referees, to Prof. Hingerl)
