Current Research Funding:
research grant P23535-N20 by FWF: Strongly Interacting Dipolar Bose Gases (2011-2016)
mobility grant HR 26/2012 by OeAD: Quantum Adsorption on Graphene (2012-2013)

Research Interests:

Quantum Many-Body Theory:
development of microscopic many-body methods based on correlated basis function theory, and application to strongly correlated systems, e.g. superfluid Helium, Bose-Einstein condensates in the large scattering length regime, dipolar quantum gases.

Quantum Monte Carlo:
Variational, Diffusion and Path Integral Monte Carlo simulations of e.g. solvation and spectra of chromophores in and the condensate fraction of helium-4 nanodroplets (this gives the basic idea of the Monte Carlo method).

Molecular Dynamics and CFD:
development of multiscale MD simulations techniques; atomistic simulations of hydrodynamic flow (nanofluidics, turbulence);
CFD with the lattice Boltzmann method. Together with Siemens VAI, we performed lattice Boltzmann simulations of fluid flow through dendrites during solidification of steel.
