Wilhelm Macke war Gründungsprofessor der Physik an der Linzer JKU. Aus seinem Nachlass wurde diese Stiftung gegründet. Sie fördert hervorragende Physikstudierende durch Preise, früher auch durch Mobilitäts-Stipendien.

Die Preise honorieren herausragende Leistungen im Studium (Details siehe Stiftungszweck); die Stipendien dienten zur (Teil-)Finanzierung von Forschung bzw. Weiterbildung im Ausland.


Wilhelm Macke was founding professor of physics at JKU Linz. From his estate, this foundation was established. It supports outstanding physics students with prizes, in the past also with mobility scholarships.

The prizes reward outstanding academic achievements (more on this in the purpose of the foundation); the scholarships served to (partially) finance research or further education abroad.
