Wilhelm Macke Master Thesis Prize

Wilhelm-Macke-Preis zur Förderung hervorragender Masterarbeiten

Der Preis wird für Master- (bzw Diplom-)arbeiten vergeben, die mit "sehr gut" beurteilt wurden.
Es werden maximal 3 Preise/Studienjahr vergeben.

Stichtag für die Bewerbung ist jedes Jahr der 15.Oktober, die Approbierung der Arbeit muss in den letzten 13.5 Monaten vor diesem Stichtag erfolgt sein¹.

Die Bewerbung impliziert die Verpflichtung², im Fall der Preisverleihung eine allgemein verständliche Präsentation im Rahmen des öffentlich stattfindenden "Macke Award"s abzuhalten, und die Vortragsunterlagen in einer für AHS / BHS-Lehrerkräfte verwendbaren Form zur Verfügung zu stellen.

Das Preisgeld beträgt³ dzt. Eur 1.600,-.

Antragstellung: durch die Kandidat(inn)en selbst, od. von Universitätslehrer(innen) der Physik der JKU.

¹ Das entspricht i.A. dem Zeitraum Approbation zwischen 01.09. des vergangenen und 30.09. des laufenden Studienjahres.
² wenn nicht außerordentliche Gründe dagegen sprechen.
³ Wurde bereits ein Macke Anerkennungspreis zuerkannt, vermindert sich das Preisgeld um diesen Betrag.

Wilhelm Macke Master Thesis Prize

The prize is given to honor an excellent Master- (or Diploma-) thesis, which must be graded with "sehr gut".
It can be given to at most 3 candidates / academic year.

Application deadline is October, 15th of each year; the approbation of the thesis must have been in the 13.5 months preceding this date.
The application, if successful, implies² to give a public, generally understandable presentation of the work at the "Macke Award", and to make the presentation available for teachers.

The prize currently amounts³ to Eur 1.600,-.

Application: can be submitted both by the candidate and the faculty members of the JKU physics department.
